Canadian GAAP for Private Enterprises

Monday, November 01, 2010

Changes are coming for preparers of Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) financial statements.  When International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) arrives in Canada in January 2011, there will be several acceptable systems for preparing financial statements.  GAAP will no longer available.  Most companies will apply either the new Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) or IFRS.
