Monday, March 08, 2010
The Challenge:
An Aboriginal band was approached by a developer to build hydropower plants on their traditional lands. The band assigned D+H Group to the task of assessing the project and assisting in the negotiations of an agreement with the developer.
- An Aboriginal Band was presented a substantial investment opportunity
- The band recognized the need to outsource the assessment and negotiation of this investment opportunity
- Short-term and long-term planning would be required to ensure universal acceptance
The Solution:
D+H Group assembled an assessment team to collaborate with the band and find an equitable solution for all stakeholders. To ensure that the implementation of power plants on traditional lands was a viable option for future generations, D+H Group invested the time to clearly understand the needs and objectives of the band. The team then evaluated the project, built forecasting models with various scenarios, and more importantly effectively communicated the financial aspects to the band in a timely manner. D+H Group assembled an assessment team to analyze the project
- The assessment team assisted in the negotiation of financial terms and conditions
- A system to receive an attractive return on investment was realized and achieved
- D+H Group delivered a step-by-step process involving key stakeholders from all parties
- Delivery of services included:
- Needs Assessment
- Financial Modeling and Forecasting
- Risk Assessment
- Mediation and Facilitation
- Implementation Planning
- ROI - Maximum Return on Investment
